The test will include
- Dating/viability Scan
- 2 black and white prints of baby
- Wellbeing scan report
- Appointment time – 30 minutes
- The results of blood sample will be available in approximately 5-7working days and the results are normally sent by email. Any unusual findings will be discussed with you and you will be advised about the referral pathway.

- Description
The NIPT test is a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) for pregnant women which estimates the risk of a fetus having Down’s syndrome or some other genetic diseases. The test includes Ultrasound Scans for Reassurance & Dating and taking small blood sample from the mother’s arm to be sent to a laboratory for analysis.
This test does not replace your 12 week scan & 20 week scan with the NHS.

Before you scan
We recommend to arrive about 5 minutes before your appointment to allow time for you to park your car and then make yourself comfortable in the clinic. Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete and sign our Consent Form to help us check that the details we hold are correct and that you understand our terms and also to ensure that we have obtained your consent for us to perform the scan. You can bring up to 4 guests to your appointment.
You will need to have a full bladder for the abdominal scan, we suggest you drink 500ML of clear fluids about an hour before your appointment and not go to the toilet before the scan. If an internal scan is required, the procedure will be explained to you in full before we ask for your consent, and you will be able to empty your bladder.
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you it will be helpful in case our qualified Sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your early reassurance scan.
Rescan Policy
In some circumstances, a follow up scan will be necessary to complete your report. We will do this for you at no extra charge however it is important that you schedule the appointment as close as possible to the dates recommended by our healthcare professionals.
