NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal test – (Blood Test) for pregnant women which estimates the risk of a fetus having Down’s syndrome & chromosomal syndromes with option to determine baby’s gender.
Available from 10 week, Non-invasive Prenatal Test for pregnant women estimates the risk of a fetus having Down’s syndrome, Edwards' syndrome and Patau’s Syndrome. This an advanced screening test carried out on a small blood sample taken from the mother’s arm with no risk of miscarriage. Fetal sex determination is available optionally..
The test will include:
• 30 minute appointment
• Dating/viability Scan
• 4 black and white prints of baby
• Wellbeing scan report
• Appointment time – 30 minutes
• The results of blood sample will be available in approximately 5 working days and the results are normally sent by email. Any unusual findings will be discussed with you and you will be advised about the referral pathway.

The IONA® test is a non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) for pregnant women which estimates the risk of a fetus having Down’s syndrome or some other genetic diseases. The test includes Ultrasound Scans for Reassurance & Dating and taking small blood sample from the mother’s arm to be sent to a laboratory for analysis with the IONA® test.
This test does not replace your 12 week scan & 20 week scan with the NHS.

Your safety and that of our staff is our utmost priority during the coronavirus pandemic. All ultrasound scanning and blood tests require close contact between you and the practitioner, so we’ve implemented strict Social Distancing and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policies for increased protection in our clinic.
If you or anyone in your household has shown symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days (or if you have come into contact with anybody who has), please do not attend your appointment. Please let us know and we will reschedule your appointment for you. In line with UK government guidance, you and your guest are required to wear a mask or face covering when attending appointments at our clinic. Upon entering the clinic you will be requested to sanitize your hands with antibacterial gel.
Our scans do not replace your diagnostic scan with the NHS
Before you scan:
We recommend to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment to allow time for you to park your car and then make yourself comfortable in the clinic.
Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete and sign our Consent Form to help us check that the details we hold are correct and that you understand our terms and also to ensure thAt we have obtained your consent for us to perform the scan. You can bring up to 4 guests to your appointment, so extended family, friends and kids are more than welcome to meet your unborn baby!
You will need to have a full bladder for the abdominal scan, we suggest you drink 500ML of clear fluids about an hour before your appointment and not go to the toilet before the scan. If an internal scan is required, the procedure will be explained to you in full before we ask for your consent, and you will be able to empty your bladder.
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you it will be helpful in case our qualified Sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your early reassurance scan.
Rescan Policy:
In some circumstances, a follow up scan will be necessary to complete your report. We will do this for you at no extra charge however it is important that you schedule the appointment as close as possible to the dates recommended by our healthcare professionals.
