Our Growth Scan is designed to answer any concern regarding your baby’s growth. Our qualified and experienced sonographer will discuss a detailed report and referral pathway if needed.

Please bring your pregnancy notes with you it will be helpful in case our qualified Sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your scan.

The scan will include:

• Heartbeat confirmation (See & Hear your baby’s heartbeat)
• Measurements with an estimated weight of the baby.
• Checking baby’s position, amount of fluid around the baby, and location of placenta (from 28 weeks onwards)
• 15-minute appointment time.
• Wellbeing scan report
• Placental circulation assessment (Doppler, if required)
• 2D ultrasound b/w prints (depending on the position of the baby)
• Depends on baby's face position, a brief view in 4D Scan (before 34 weeks) £10

Your Scan:

The Primary purpose of the scan is to check the fetal growth and estimated fetal weight using ultrasound between 24 – 36 weeks gestation. Our Sonographer will measure baby’s head, abdominal size and length of the femur and The anatomy of the baby will be assessed including the stomach, kidneys and bladder. If required, the blood flow across the umbilical cord from the placenta will also be measured to assess placental function.

Covid19 Advice:

Your safety and that of our staff is our utmost priority during the coronavirus pandemic. All ultrasound scanning and blood tests require close contact between you and the practitioner, so we’ve implemented strict Social Distancing and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policies for increased protection in our clinic.

If you or anyone in your household has shown symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days (or if you have come into contact with anybody who has), please do not attend your appointment. Please let us know and we will reschedule your appointment for you. In line with UK government guidance, you and your guest are required to wear a mask or face covering when attending appointments at our clinic. Upon entering the clinic you will be requested to sanitize your hands with antibacterial gel.

COVID-19 POLICY

Our scans do not replace your diagnostic scan with the NHS

Before your scan:

We recommend arriving about 10 minutes before your appointment to allow time for you to park your car and then make yourself comfortable in the clinic.
Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete and sign our Consent Form to help us check that the details we hold are correct and that you understand our terms and also to ensure thAt we have obtained your consent for us to perform the scan. You can bring up to 4 guests to your appointment, so extended family, friends and kids are more than welcome to meet your unborn baby!

You will need to have a full bladder for the abdominal scan, we suggest you drink 500ML of clear fluids about an hour before your appointment and not go to the toilet before the scan. If an internal scan is required, the procedure will be explained to you in full before we ask for your consent, and you will be able to empty your bladder.

Rescan Policy:

The quality of your Scan and the satisfaction of our customers is important to us. If, in our sonographer’s opinion, we’re not able to complete the primary purpose of your scan we may offer you the option of a free rescan appointment. If this is not possible for any reason, other options will be discussed with you.

Refund:

It should be noted that refunds are not given in any case as payment is taken for use of the Clinic Service & Sonographer's valuable time.

On-site parking available and the premises is accessible for wheelchair users.
